About Us

GoatHerd Coffee started with one simple frustration: finding great coffee that’s actually fresh. Too many bags on the shelves had been roasted weeks—or even months—ago. By the time you brewed them, the magic was gone.

So we took matters into our own hands. First with a tiny home roaster, then a gas roaster in an old bike shed. What started as experiments quickly turned into sharing with friends, then selling as a side hustle. People loved it, and that gave us the push to take the leap. GoatHerd Coffee was born.

Our name nods to the legend of Kaldi, the Ethiopian goatherd who noticed his goats dancing after eating wild red berries—the first spark of coffee as we know it. That same spark drives us today.

Now everything we roast comes out of our roastery on a working farm in Wouldham, Kent. It’s where we dial in every batch, host training sessions to help people get the most from their machines, and showcase the latest coffee equipment we sell. Whether you’re brewing at home or gearing up your business, we’ve got you covered.

Here’s what we stand by: freshly roasted, ethically sourced coffee, delivered fast and free from our roastery to your door. No shortcuts, no stale beans—just coffee done properly.
